Kitchens, fireplace, bars, walls
There are many additions that you can add to your new stamped concrete patio, to make it the perfect outdoor living area. What could be better than sitting around an outdoor fireplace with your friends and family, or starting up that built in grill to cook your favorite steak?
If you live in the Greater Fox Valley area McHugh’s Decorative Concrete has you covered. Along with helping you design and plan your outdoor living space, they are experts on the installation of them.
Here are some options for your outdoor living space.
Fireplaces– Outdoor Fireplaces come with many options, the most common installed are wood burning but you can also have them heat with natural gas. Some smaller units can be set right on the existing patio, but the majority of them have to be built into the structure of the concrete with footings. There are 2 custom styles available, the fireplace can either be built out of the retaining wall stones, or block and mortar, and have cultured or natural stone applied. McHugh’s offers both designs and can install multiple other brands and styles. A fireplace is a great gathering spot and will send off a lot of heat on a cool night.
Fire Pits– A built in Fire Pit can be a very affordable option. The fire pits can either be installed flush with your new patio or raised with retaining wall stone. For the flush fire pit there is a heat buffer between the concrete and the metal ring, and can be filled with decorative stone. For the raised fire pit there are many styles of stone available, and can also be matched to your seat walls. The fire pits can be wood or natural gas burning. Fire pits allow for a ring of seating and are sometimes more practical when it comes to a large crowd. Fire pits also allow you to choose your position based on wind and view. A fire pit is a rather simple way to enjoy the heat and crackling of a beautiful fire.
Seat Walls– Looking to add a nice design element or the function of having a seat wall around your built in fire pit? The majority of seat walls installed are with decorative retaining wall stones, there are a lot of colors to choose from, and they can be installed in multiple wall patterns. A sitting wall not only provides a place to rest but can act as a bench seat for dining and a large group of people. A sitting wall although it is not high will also help to divert winds and breezes and are a great addition to have with a fireplace or fire-pit. With your new seat wall you can include decorative elements like cushions, lanterns and decorative art and plants. It really dresses up your patio and takes it to the next level.
Outdoor Kitchen or Bar– The possibilities are endless when it comes to an outdoor kitchen, you have the choice of having a built in grill, refrigerator, sink, outlets, and storage all out on your patio. Most of the time we finish off the kitchen or bar area with a concrete countertop, but you have the option to do granite or quartz installed. An outdoor kitchen allows you to mix an mingle with your guests while enjoying the great outdoors. Your guests can take a load of and be served up their favorite cocktail at the bar and you can move right to a casual dining spot at the bar on your patio. This is also a great spot to add a covered trellis or simply use a patio umbrella for some shelter from the sun.
Lighting– Lights are a nice upgrade to any outdoor living space. The can be low voltage or standard 110v. Lighting can be incorporated into the design of the seat walls either as sconce lights, backlighting, or on columns, many more light options are available.See All fireplaces, seats, walls, kitchens and bar pictures.
